Mario Kart 8 is a kart racing video game and the eighth major installment in the Mario Kart series, developed and published by Nintendo for their Wii U home video game console. The game was announced at E3 2013 and released worldwide in May 2014. Mario Kart Tour APK. Download Mario Kart Tour APK is now available for Android. The Endless racing game on mobile with all of your favorite character Mario has been released from the official Nintendo Co, Ltd. A very simple and beautiful colorful graphics game.
It’s with a lukewarm blend of chilling expectation and numb skepticism that I’m putting in the eighth deposit Nintendo’s 22 year old racing cabinet.
Expectations are obvious:
“Mario Kart” is a game series that is characterized not only by its iconic characters and powerups from the Mario universe, but also by its largely unmatched performance of the kart-racing genre, which the era of its time actually bases.
revitalization
However, when the skepticism nevertheless occurs before the game starts, this is also easy to put your finger on. The series has lived in its own habitat for a long time, and has gained good criticism and commercial success.
At the same time, the latest releases for my own part have only provoked lukewarm enthusiasm.
” Mario Kart Wii ” was nothing but a delicious tribute to the series’s great time on Nintendo 64, with an attempt to innovate in the form of half-functioning motion controls.
” Mario Kart 7 ” on 3DS introduced user-configured vehicles, running in water and hang gliders behind the maps, which is fun, but still missed a proper realization of these elements.
Vertigo
” Mario Kart 8 “, on the other hand, turns out to be an unprecedented puzzle, and is definitely better than its youngest predecessors. This is not yet a “Mario Kart”, but a release that will probably stand next to the N64 version as the second most important game in the series.
Of course, most of the innovations from the seven, with the addition of driving on walls and ceilings, are retained with a new type of lane that will illuminate a new spacious dimension to drive in.
An old track from the original ” Super Mario Kart ” is revitalized by suddenly driving almost vertically up in the air – upside down, and hit and in spirals and loops.
New lanes with famous and dear themes, like the dizzying Haunted Mansion , make the harder the perception of what is right, left, back and forth. A new version of the popular favorite Rainbow Roadis reproduced in a new and bombastic sci-fi costume, while the old magic is preserved parallel in a nickel-plated version of the track by the same name from N64.
However, as soon as you see the paths the way they are actually constructed – like plain roads with turns that are turned and folded in different directions – you learn to play as always before, in an arcade-based mindset that drives forward and turns right or left and try to get ahead quickly.
«Customize your Map»
As in the “Mario Kart 7”, the vehicles are configurable, a handy grip that gives the game a chunk of deeper depth than the old system of the N64 and Wii, choosing “Automatic” for easier turns or “Manual” for the ability to crash.
If you want good grip, acceleration and easy steering, choose the right vehicle, tire and attachment. Possibly, one can focus on high speed and wiring, which is undoubtedly tougher.
Driving in water and hang gliders, paragliding, parachutes and heavy sunsets on the back of the maps is continued, but still subject to the same problem as on 3DS:
When driving through a wall of water, it should feel like driving in water, albeit with a boat propeller on the back of the map. When flying a hang glider, this should potentially involve significant racing in the air; shrug and dirty shortcuts and tricks, as the counterweight to the pure transport sequences that brings the map from A to B.
When the wheels are turned into floating elements, the friction against the surface, if not challenging a new advanced level, will in any case be a little different than the usual rubber tires against the asphalt.
None of these [most subjective] wishes are met in “Mario Kart 8”. Instead, the different climates present the exclusions to create an illusion of a varied landscape. I will in no way call for realism in any connection with Nintendo, yet I miss the physical feeling of driving on all the wide variety of platforms.
Nicer than pretty
Nevertheless, the game takes a long way to maintain an illusion of eloquent racing action and a sense of speed I do not think I have seen in previous games in the series.
When the speed is good, everything is good and Mario Kart 8 is the first of the series in high resolution graphics, which it uses in a much nicer way than more games I’ve seen on the other two power generation console consoles.
Strong color contrasts and impressive variety in landscape and hard shapes, make the game a graphic pornographic example of a game.
In addition, each track accompanies unique songs, where Nintendo has obviously made a major effort. If I have to rehearse the music, I think most of the songs are evenly distributed between classical game music and easily digestible jazz.
And it is for the first time for simple entertainment that we play “Mario Kart”. The main part of the game fun is the epic moments where one crosses an opponent, boosters out of the swing and so far the leader hits a green shell before the finish line, and so on. Mostly, the game is never realistic or fair, but favors weak players and delights with self-guilty humor and packed action.
In these areas, “Mario Kart 8” delivers to the degrees. Along with upcoming titles for Wii U, we’ve seen announced on the E3, in addition to more of those already available, “Mario Kart 8” finally forms a plausible basis for event soloists to take the step and become the owner of the console.

Mario Kart is one of Nintendo's strongest franchise with titles available for nearly every Nintendo console and handheld released in the past two decades and over 100 million copies sold — but Nintendo is eyeing a much larger potential audience by bringing Mario Kart to mobile phones.
When Mario Kart Tour was first announced more than a year ago, the online reactions were a mixed bag. Some folks were rightfully hyped up about the prospect of playing Mario Kart on their phone, while others were worried about how a free-to-play Mario Kart app might be bogged down with micro-transactions.
Now that closed Android beta for Mario Kart Tour has begun, we're starting to see screenshots and video clips leak out from brazen beta testers breaking the rules of the beta. Along with those leaks, we've rounded up some other impressions from around the tech news industry to get a sense for what Nintendo has brought to the table.
What you need to know
- Mario Kart Tour is a free-to-play kart racer that's currently being beta tested in Japan and the US.
- Familiar gameplay is fun and charming and all your favorite Mario Kart characters, carts, and courses included — although most things are hidden in the game's loot box-style rewards system.
- Designed to be played with simplified, one-handed controls — similar to Super Mario Run.
Mario Kart Tour beta early impressions
Since I haven't had a chance to check out the beta first-hand, I've looked around for any brazen testers willing to post some gameplay footage. The above video was supplied by TonesqueTech and offers an unedited look at playing through the first three tracks. Mario Kart Tour is designed to play holding your phone in one hand, with auto-acceleration and swipe controls for turning. The core gameplay remains intact, with item boxes randomly delivering you power-ups on the track, and there appears to be a complete roster of returning characters to unlock and play as.
Ethan Gach from Kotaku writes that while the gameplay is fun and does a good job of adapting the franchise for smartphones the current state of the rewards system bogs the game down:
To unlock additional circuits you collect Grand Stars by completing races and other challenges. Earning stars is also how you unlock gifts, some of which contain green gems, Mario Kart Tour's premium currency. This is where things start to get weighed down with overlapping in-game currencies. For five gems you get to 'pull' on a green pipe that shoots out a new driver, kart, or glider, each of a different rarity. My first pull got me Morton, one of the Bowser minions. Currently, the in-game shop, which doesn't allow you to buy gems yet, is advertising Metal Mario.
Nintendo has found massive success using the free-to-play with in-app purchases model with Fire Emblem Heroes reportedly generating close to $500 million in revenue on its own, so the prospects of milking a premiere franchise like Mario Kart with the same model is an obvious move. Nothing we've seen or read so far is set in stone, as is the nature of beta testing. The Verge mentions in their early look the beta that along with the stars, green gem, and coin currency systems, the game also includes a stamina system using hearts that deplete every 15 minutes and can evidently be refilled with in-app purchases.
Having only seen second-hand gameplay footage and first impressions from other game journalists, it honestly feels like Mario Kart Tour is shaping up to be a Dry Bones shell of what a Mario Kart game is supposed to be. Seems like the loot box system will have you mindlessly swiping through each race just grinding to earn enough coins or gems to get another chance at unlocking the one character you actually want to play as. These gameplay limitations feel especially weird given that this is the same franchise that let up to eight people wirelessly connect using just one cartridge with the Nintendo DS.
Of course, I'm trying not to pass judgment on a game that's still in the early beta-testing phase. The game is expected to see a wide release sometime this summer, and hopefully by then we'll have a clearer look at the gameplay modes and mechanics — because if the core gameplay is fun and holds up to the series reputation, the nostalgia-factor alone might make Mario Kart Tour one of the biggest games of 2019.
